Room 2 looked at and wondered about this picture.  This is what we said:
Tuiva - I can see a gorilla looking at the book.
Troy - The gorilla's got feet and toes.
Tyreese - The gorilla is reading.
Keanu - He is reading a book.
Tennisa - I can see the ears.
Max - It looks like he is looking at a monitor.
Pariz - It's looking at the book.
Oshay - Maybe the gorilla's playing a game.
Tuiva - He has yellow on his hair.  you can see his tongue because his mouth is open.
Tyreese - He's thinking because he is playing the game.
Oshay - Maybe he needs help.
Jor-El - I was wondering if he is going to book it.
Oshay - Some gorillas are hard and attack people.
Max - Maybe he's reading in a zoo.
Jor-El - He's looking at it and wondering what it is.
Oshay - I think the gorilla is playing a game and it's purple i board.

Celebrating Matariki

Making Korowai

The Kowhai team have been making korowai cloaks and will be having a parade to celebrate Matariki.  We looked at many different patterns and designs and spent a busy day making our own cloaks.  They look beautiful Room 2.

We are Ruma Rua and we all started school in Term 1, 2012.
We are always busy learning and making the most of our new school journey.

Handwriting

 We are very lucky to have a smartboard in our classroom and we use it everyday.  Here we are doing our calendar.

This term the Board of Trustees generously gave us some notebooks to use in our classroom.  We are beginning to get familiar with them.  These computers will be used to help us with our regular curriculum learning.

Our comments about elephant.

Izayah:He used his trunk to climb up the tree.  He is comfortable up there.
Teana: He got up the tree using his trunk. He is looking for his parents.
Lucas: The elephant jumped up into the tree. He likes being up the tree.
Narnia: The elephant jumped up the tree to steal the eggs from the nest. He is going to eat them with his trunk.
Solya: He's stuck up the tree.  He jumped up there.
Hayden: He used boxes to help him climb up the tree.He climbed u0p the tree so he can fall down.
Periti: He climbed up the tree using his trunk on a ladder. He went up because he likes it.
Isileli: The elelphant is up the tree.
Pafelio:  The elephant jumped on a trampoline and climbed up the tree.  He just climbed up.

Wow!  Look at this!

Today we looked at what we could find under the sea! Look at all our observations.
